Sarah and Alanna in London – a city-workshop (Added 28th July 2010)

Last Friday I spent a few hours in London with a good friend, Alanna (see bottom photograph), who needed some extra training in how to use her camera better. Alanna is excellent at ‘seeing’ in her head the photograph she’s trying to capture but just needed a little help understanding how her camera can be used to achieve some of these images. I have every confidence she’ll go far in the world of photography!

Meanwhile, Sarah was our willing model for the day and she did very well at a) modelling, b) staying relaxed, and c) being patient with Alanna and I all day!!

The photographs below are some of the ones we captured from the day. We started in Westbourne Park near Paddington (thanks to Kim from IMMI for this recommendation) before moving on to Camdem Lock (the brick wall and the b&w bridge shots below), Trafalgar Square (the obligatory telephone box) and then over Westminster Bridge.

We even bumped into the police (last photograph – eek!) but thankfully they were on our side!

I hope you like the images below – we had a fun time!

Helen & Aaron’s ‘hot’ wedding! (Added 12th July 2010)

When I first met Helen and Aaron, I knew their wedding at Royal Garrison Church in Aldershot and Old Thorns Golf Club in Liphook was going to be great fun. And I’m glad to say I wasn’t mistaken! With a highly impressive Guard of Honour (part of which had travelled a great distance) and friends & family from far and wide, it was a day to remember.

But wasn’t the weather hot!? In fact, Aaron and Helen’s wedding was the hottest of the year so far, and I think it’ll be hard to beat it! And while most of us found the sun just-about-bearable I take my hat off to Aaron and Sam (the best man) with the Guard of Honour in full uniform with thick red tunics in the summer heat.

On to Old Thorns Golf Club in Liphook, Hampshire, and it gave everyone an opportunity to enjoy a glass of champagne and catch a bit of shade before sitting down to enjoy the wedding breakfast. But not before five emotional speeches from both fathers, bride, groom and best man.

Sneak peeks below – can’t wait to process all the photographs from the day!
