Maddie and Owen are gorgeous! They’re also really great fun so I was chuffed to bits when Zoe and Steve called and asked if I could take some photographs for the walls of their new house.
Sometimes I’ll use studio lights for these kinds of photographs but not this time. Each of these was shot using the natural light coming in the window of the spare bedroom at their house. This meant that Maddie and Owen were completely relaxed in their own surroundings so it was easy for them both to appear perfectly natural.
It was also funny to get some great expressions from Maddie in the last two photographs. She does her ‘cheeky little monkey’ look very well. I think she gets it from her mother… :-)

I’ve come to know Jenny and Mike really quite well since they asked me last year to photograph their wedding so it was a real privilege to capture their special day at Selby Abbey and York Racecourse. Jenny and her four bridesmaids (Vicky, Cath, Dobrina and Taliah) looked amazing having their hair styled at the Tranquil Hair Salon, and once they’d all got changed at the hotel the bright red colour of the day made them all look just incredible.
The rain held off as we all headed to Selby Abbey (such a beautiful building!) and a rather proud looking Richard (Father of the Bride – FOB) took Jenny into the abbey, stopping for some quick photographs on the way in.
The service was fantastic and I managed to get permission to sneak up some rather dangerous looking stairs (don’t tell my insurance company!) to gain some photographs looking right down the abbey from a great height.
It was a long day as I had to drive back down to Hampshire that evening to photograph another wedding in Surrey the next morning, but it was such good fun and we all enjoyed it immensely.
I hope you enjoy looking at these ‘sneak peeks’. Jenny and Mike will return from honeymoon soon and at that point all the other photographs will be available for everyone to view.
