Ben and Amanda at Donnington Grove in Newbury (added 12th June)

Being the wedding photographer at Donnington Grove Hotel in Newbury for Ben and Amanda’s wedding yesterday was just amazing! Amanda and her bridesmaids had their hair & make-up at the nearby Donnington Valley Hotel and looked beautiful as they all made their way to St Mary’s Church at Shaw.

Waiting at the church was Ben, along with both best men, Paul and Daffy. And let’s not forget how smart Hugo looked wearing the same suit as the older guys (well done Hugo!)

Oh, and the weather rocked! Nestled in between a thunderous Friday and an all-day-rainy Sunday was this jewel of sunshine on the happy couple all day. Not even a threat of rain all day.

I *loved* photographing Ben and Amanda with all their wedding guests at Donnington Grove Country Club. I can’t wait to see them when they get back from Mexico to show them all the photos.

Meanwhile, here’s a sneak peek…

Rob and Kat’s Alton wedding in Hampshire (added 9th May)

Photographing Rob and Sally’s wedding at St Lawrence church and the Grange Hotel at Alton in Hampshire yesterday was possibly the most fun wedding of the year so far! We started with a drink at the Eight Bells country pub in Alton before moving on to the church and meeting the other guests there.

But being the wedding photographer at St Lawrence church on Saturday was even more fun as the vicar, Tara Hellings, wore her trusty pink Doc Martens and a stunning outfit recently acquired from a trip to India.

However, nothing could upstage Sally who looked stunning when she arrived in a 1958 Austin Healey. A classic car but a beautiful bride, full of grace and elegance as she walked into the church.

While preparing to photograph their wedding I couldn’t believe how hard it was raining outside. It was pouring! But the forecast was better for the afternoon and let’s be honest, how often does our trusty Met Office get the weather forecast wrong…

But the sun came out and the weather didn’t hold us back at all. And it made the second journey in the Austin Healey between the church and the reception all the more enjoyable!

The speeches were delivered impeccably by John (Sally’s brother, honourably standing in for her father), Rob (who kept his words within an hour!) and Jeff, who’d flown in from Germany to support his brother as best man.

A big thank you to everyone at the wedding. It was a *very* special day!

Highfield Park wedding photography with Elly and James (added 3rd January 2011)

St John’s Church in Hartley Wintney and Highfield Park in Hook were great locations to photograph Eleanor and James’s wedding, and the snow made both venues even more perfect for them. Wedding photography in these winter conditions is great fun and everyone at their wedding seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Elly’s dad came to the rescue clearing the drive to ensure the bride could get to the church on time and other friends on standby to drive the bridal party to the church were ‘scrambled’ as the wedding cars were stuck in heavy snow in Egham.

But virtually everyone made it to the church successfully and the wedding was a beautiful affair. Wedding photography at St John’s Church in Hartley Wintney is lovely as the light inside is always very flattering – Martyn Boyce and I couldn’t have had it better!

We headed to Highfield Park in Hook and continued taking more wedding photographs of all the guests enjoying canapés and champagne. I think only two of the guests were unable to make it to the wedding and reception which, given the conditions, was almost a miracle.

All in all, a perfect day!

St Martin-in-the-Fields Wedding, Trafalgar Square

Eleanor and David’s central London wedding yesterday was a real joy to be part of. Over 300 guests attended to celebrate their wonderful day under perfect skies at several of London’s top locations.

The service was held at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, a great setting for wedding photography in London. After a heartwarming service and a large group photograph on the steps of the church, all the guests were ushered into the Crypt for drinks, cake and some preliminary speeches, a lovely gesture which ensured that all could enjoy a celebratory drink to toast the new couple.

Those invited to the afternoon reception were then taken by bus to Temple Pier where a waiting boat took the party leisurely along the Thames to Millbank Tower, passing national landmarks such as Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament. The atmosphere was one of joyful celebration all the way, as well as giving all those on board some fantastic views of our nation’s capital.

The views from the 29th floor of the Millbank Tower were a final treat for the wedding guests who enjoyed a superb meal and more heartfelt speeches from the father of the bride, groom and best man as tradition dictates.

It was truly a pleasure to photograph their special day and a delight to be in the heart of the nation surrounded by our national heritage.

The photographs below are just a sneak preview before Eleanor and David return from Honeymoon. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed photographing them!
